Responsible for supervising chemical vendors, sample collection and testing, chemical database maintenance, and maintaining chemical treatments for drilling and producing locations.Work with a cross disciplinary team that includes engineers, foremen and their leads, field employees, chemical and equipment vendors.
Detailed Description
Check and maintain chemical rates for scavengers, inhibitors, demulsifiers
Ensure appropriate MSDS are on locations
Maintain and updating test data, and new chemical trials
Check producing locations for H2S
Support production and drilling operations
Maintain correspondence and documents in a confidential manner
Assist on other tasks as assigned by Chemical Engineer
Obtain water, oil and mud samples, maintaining testing and treatment data
Treatment and maintenance of drilling muds for scale, corrosion, H2S control
Maintain corrosion coupons programs on drilling rigs, producing wells, facilities
Job Requirements
A minimum of 2 years functional experiencewith Windows, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint
Excellent knowledge of the internet and other basic office software and equipment
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for daily interactions with:
Other engineers and field operations supervisors
Newfield Field Employees
Chemical Engineer, and other chemical department employees
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability for daily successful interaction with many different personality types
Additional Details
Previous chemical, drilling, and production experience preferred
Confident, dependable, and punctual
Adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to multitask and remain organized
Must be willing and physically able to
traverse uneven terrain on a daily basis throughout a 12 hour day
climb to a height of 40 feet throughout a 12 hour day
push, or pull between 25-75 pounds on a frequent daily basis throughout a 12 hour day
lift between 50-75 pounds on occasion, 25 pounds on a daily basis
kneel, bend and twist multiple times throughout the day
Reports to Production Foreman with direction from Chemical Engineer
Over 80%of work will be performed in the field
Monday through Friday schedule with additional hours and days as needed
Wage depending upon experience
